MAZAN
Inspired by the traditions of Mazandaran carpets, Mazan's staggered stripe formation celebrates an important heritage weaving technique. It finds beauty in a moment of necessity. The original source stitches together narrow panels to create a greater whole, connecting a distinctive pattern of overlapping lines that meet without ever quite merging. Mazan is handwoven from cotton and jute for a distinctive handfeel, an interpretive take on the original's wool construction. It investigates the connection between heritage and continuity, using the creativity of the present to honor the artistry of the past.
