RAPSCALLION

Rapscallion snatches inspiration from classical ticking patterns, referencing the most traditional of forms in a handwoven composition. Stripes – historically a pattern of bandits, desperadoes and mischief-makers – represented those existing on the fringes of society’s rigid rules. Rebels and the lawless were once condemned to don this pattern, though over time its meaning changed to symbolize something more regal. Rapscallion plays with this paradox, its patterning a frolic of contrasts embodying the rebel and the ruler, the scoundrel and the saint.
