Khotan takes its name from a Silk Road oasis, a city known for introducing a distinctive aesthetic which combines Indo-European iconography with the traditions of Chinese geometry. Inspired by antique carpet patterns of the region, Khotan is a lattice of botanical architecture, its fretwork extending in all directions. The sacred pomegranate, a symbol of prosperity and power, is the heart of the design; each fruit marks a new beginning, branching and blooming.
