The cloudband motif has been a feature of Persian court carpets from the time of Shah Abbas. Each woven with their own unique narrative or language, carpets were used to communicate favor and disfavor, to invite seduction and create diplomatic bonds. Cloudband continues in this tradition — a textural exchange with a velvet touch — as a gesture of communion and connection, its celestial symbols a mirror to the heavens.
