BAMAKO

In Malian folklore, trickster spirits are said to roam the crocodile river which runs through Bamako. Lost fishermen tell tales of the creatures swimming close with fish in their mouths, offering them strength and sustenance for the long trip home. The open weave of this wool and linen mix echoes the form of these fishermen's nets, promising a similar, shifting ambiguity as raised ridges capture the light.
