Millions upon millions of miniature wonders illuminate the feet of the beachcomber at nighttime, cradling the water in a halo of blue-white light. As they drift together, these bioluminescent creatures form what’s known as the “milky sea” – or mareel – igniting the ocean with a phosphorescent majesty.
